Paul Kersey’s Open Letter To Donald Trump: Defend Freedom Of Association (And Property Values) Against Obama’s Racial Socialism

Dear Mr. Trump: Happy July 4th!

It’s hard to believe where we are today. The choice before our people is either your “America First” or Hillary Clinton’s promise to dissolve the American people and elect a new one. One year ago, many considered your candidacy a joke: Macy’s had just dropped your line of clothing (although you have the last laugh with the company’s stock down a whopping 50 percent). And a host of other companies, including ESPN, had joined their campaign to punish you.

As Nigel Farage might say, no one is laughing now. And the global elite are now openly aligning against you and your supporters [It’s Time for the Elites to Rise Up Against the Ignorant Masses, by James Traub, Foreign Policy, June 28, 2016].traub-fp_0

But what does “America First” — independence — mean? When the British people voted for #Brexit, you wrote this:

Self-determination is the sacred right of all free people’s [sic — VDARE.com has typos too!], and the people of the UK have exercised that right for all the world to see.
In less than 140 characters, you confirmed the most important freedom people have, that of freedom of association — “self-determination.”

To put it bluntly, freedom of association, self-determination, is the right to discriminate. It’s the right to guard what your ancestors bequeathed so that your posterity can enjoy it as well.

That is why, Mr. Trump, you must address the pernicious Obama Administration scheme called Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH).

President Obama wants to use the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to target majority-white communities across the nation. He wants to move non-whites from poor urban communities into prosperous white suburbs in the name of combatting racial injustice and segregation. [Obama administration to unveil major new rules targeting segregation across U.S., by Emily Badger, Washington Post, July 8, 2015]. A database compiling “racial disparities” in the U.S. is already being assembled [Obama collecting personal data for a secret race database, by Paul Sperry, New York Post, July 18, 2015].

It was reported in June that you have said you will discontinue this program [NY Official: Trump Will Discontinue Fed Takeover Of Local Ordinances, by Kerry Picket, Daily Caller, June 9, 2016]. But you should know the Republican-controlled Congress already had a chance to defund AFFH — and they failed to do it.

As Senator Mike Lee noted, AFFH means the end of self-government:

“If any aspect of a community’s housing and demographic patterns fails to meet HUD bureaucrats’ expansive definition of ‘fair housing,’ the local government must submit a plan to reorganize the community’s housing practices according to the preferences and priorities of the bureaucrats,” said Lee.

[Senate GOP And Democrats Save HUD Regulation From Defunding Measure, by Kerry Picket, Daily Caller, May 19, 2016]

It’s the American version of the European Union — federal bureaucrats can intervene in local communities in the minutest detail.

Mr. Trump, you made your billions in real estate development. You are acutely aware that much of an American’s wealth is directly tied to the equity in their home. Thus, protecting property values should be a core responsibility of government.

Obama’s AFFH is a declaration of war against property values. By removing a community’s right of self-government, Americans lose any control over their own property. After all, why bother purchasing property if the government will deliberately import populations to destroy your community? Why participate in local government when your community can be targeted and replaced?

AFFH means the replacement of self-determination by racial-socialist tyranny.

And there are real human costs. The evidence shows the Section 8 program is redistributing crime from the inner cities to the suburbs Americans moved to as an escape [American Murder Mystery |Why is crime rising in so many American cities? The answer implicates one of the most celebrated antipoverty programs of recent decades, by Hanna Rosin, The Atlantic, July 2008]

Ferguson, Missouri was once a thriving community, but the federal government targeting it with Section 8 Vouchers destroyed the city.

If this program remains in place, every city in America could suffer the fate of Ferguson, Missouri. How many white cops like Darren Wilson will have their lives destroyed for trying to do their jobs? (At last report, Wilson was working nights stacking shelves at Wal-Mart).

How many American homeowners will see the work of a lifetime destroyed because of uncaring bureaucrats? [Ferguson home values are plummeting, and residents are feeling the pain, by Daniel Rivero, Fusion, March 16, 2015]

In your book The Art of the Deal, you relate that when you were sued by the government for allegedly discriminating against blacks in one of your housing developments, you refused to settle. You say you did rent to blacks but you “wanted tenants who we could be sure would pay the rent, who would be neat and clean and good neighbors, and who met our requirements of having an income at least four times the rent.”

This was how you met the famous lawyer Roy Cohn, who advised you, “Tell them to go to hell and fight the thing in court… I don’t think you have any obligation to rent to tenants who would be undesirable, white or black, and the government doesn’t have a right to run your business.”

Mr. Trump, millions of Americans have their life savings tied directly to the house they own. They bought it thinking it would not only be a great investment, but an asset they could hand down to their children.

If the Obama Administration’s AFFH program remains in place, it means devastation for homeowners around the country. And make no mistake, because it will disproportionately impoverish European-Americans and so reduce “income inequality,” I can’t help but believe the effects are deliberate.

Mr. Trump, you’ve defined your candidacy as built around defending self-determination. It’s time to take a stand on the rights of small communities to defend themselves.

The federal government should not have the right to tell Americans who their neighbors should be.

I urge you to speak out against AFFH and pledge that not only will you end Obama’s HUD schemes — but that you will proclaim freedom of association and self-determination are rights you will defend as president.
