Sanders Is Crazy, But None Of These Democratic “Moderates” Are Moderate On Immigration Either

Earlier, by Pat Buchanan: An Establishment in Panic Over Biden Fall, Bernie Rise

A specter is haunting the Democratic establishment — the specter of Bernie Sanders. The new presidential frontrunner terrifies party elites, who would much rather have a “moderate” nominee. Mike Bloomberg, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, and Joe Biden all hope they’ll emerge as that “moderate” option. But the only “moderate” aspect about them is their supposed opposition to “socialism.” All support the Left’s extreme immigration agenda enthusiast agenda and all will impose Open Borders on America.

Sanders’s support for Open Borders is obvious. As I reported last week:

He wants to decriminalize illegal immigration, abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, impose a moratorium on deportations, provide healthcare to illegal aliens, “dismantle” detention facilities, amnesty all illegals, dramatically increase America’s refugee intake by welcoming “climate refugees,” and scrap Trump’s travel ban and other immigration restrictions.

But the other Democrats “moderates” are only slightly less radical.

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg is currently the strongest threat to Sanders. He appears to have narrowly won the Iowa Caucus, although losing the popular vote, and he came in a close second in New Hampshire. He drew in the second-highest fundraising numbers for the fourth quarter of 2019; only Sanders raised more money [Here’s how much each presidential candidate raised in the fourth quarter, by Grace Segers, CBS News, January 3, 2020]. But he lags in the national polls at fifth place, average [RealClearPolitics, February 14, 2020].

Buttigieg claims to represent the heartland, but his immigration plan promises to ravage Middle America. He believes illegal immigration should be decriminalized and government should provide healthcare to illegal aliens [Pete Buttigieg vows to expand government healthcare to illegal immigrants, by Kimberly Leonard, Washington Examiner, June 22, 2019]. His formal immigration plan released in December confirmed his Open Borders commitment. He promised to Amnesty all illegal immigrants in his first 100 days of office; if Congress doesn’t pass Amnesty by that time, he will try to implement it via Executive Action. He would reduce immigrant detention facilities, deportations, and border security in general. He wants to create a “Community Renewal Visa” to be given to foreigners who move to economically depressed towns and promise to stay there and “renew” their adopted home — nothing more than a government-sponsored demographic Great Replacement of small-town America. He also wants to increase guest worker visas by tying them to “economic needs.”

Buttigieg calls his plan, “I was a stranger and you welcomed me’: An Immigration Policy for a New Era,” implying it upholds Biblical values. [Pete Buttigieg releases immigration plan while campaigning in Iowa, by Priscilla Thompson and Suzanne Gamboa, NBC News, December 23, 2019]

As South Bend mayor, Buttigieg shielded illegals from deportation and gave them municipal IDs so they could open bank accounts [How Mayor Pete Buttigieg Helped Prepare Immigrants for ICE Raids, by Scott Bixby, Daily Beast, August 14, 2019].

Buttigieg tries bolster his lackluster non-white support by speaking in Spanish. His campaign is currently running Spanish-language ads in Nevada. This of course furthers the curse of creeping institutional bilingualism [Pete Buttigieg goes Spanish in Nevada TV ad, vows to 'unify our very polarized country,' by S.A. Miller, Washington Times, February 13, 2020]

Currently the second-leading Democratic candidate: former Vice President Joe Biden. The previous national frontrunner was humiliated in Iowa and New Hampshire, finishing fourth and fifth respectively. However, he is still polling well and will likely win in South Carolina. It’s too early to count out Joe yet.

Biden presents himself as a blue collar guy who tells it like it is — “No Malarkey,” as his goofy slogan put it [No malarkey? Biden’s old-school slogan gets mocked and praised in Iowa, by Natasha Korecki, Politico, December 2, 2019]. His immigration policy, however, is pure malarkey. Biden has always been terrible on immigration. He supported Barack Obama’s liberal immigration agenda and helped scuttle patriotic immigration reform in the 1990s. His current plan carries on this insidious legacy.

A President Biden would eliminate all of Trump’s progress on immigration, such as overturning the public charge rule and sensible detention policies. Biden wants to legalize all illegal immigrants, change visa laws to allow cities and counties to specifically request more foreigners, increase our refugee intake to 125,000 per year (higher than at any point under Obama), make it easier to apply for asylum in the U.S., and extend Temporary Protected Status for thousands of immigrants. Additionally, Biden hates “our English jurisprudential culture, our European culture” and wants it transformed.

But note this is less extreme than his competitors. Biden opposes the decriminalization of illegal immigration and a moratorium on deportations. He would also keep Immigration and Customs Enforcement [Joe Biden’s immigration plan, explained, by Nicole Narea, Vox, December 12, 2019].

Former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg is suddenly surging in the polls, despite not participating in the first primaries. Bloomberg now sits at a close third, according to the Feb 14 RCP average, and has more far more cash than any other candidate. He’s banking on buying the election with his vast wealth. And so far, the strategy is showing results. [Bloomberg’s ad-spending spree is a bonanza for local broadcasters, by Robert Frank, CNBC, February 10, 2020]

While Bloomberg previously expressed common sense on race and crime, he has always been an immigration booster. Back in 2007, the then-mayor said, incredibly, that an Amnesty was needed to help golfers, causing Steve Sailer to dub him a member of “Billionaire Golfers For Open Borders.” He has continued to advocate for Amnesty and increased immigration since then.

Bloomberg’s current immigration plan is in the same spirit. As President, he would eliminate Trump’s immigration achievements, legalize all illegal immigrants, increase legal immigration, expand guest worker visas, and reduce detention facilities and border security. Like Buttigieg and Biden, he would allow cities and counties to specifically request more immigrants for their area to Replace the native-born Americans [Michael Bloomberg Unveils Plan for ‘Broken’ Immigration System, by Mark Niquette, Bloomberg News, February 10, 2020] His plan also provides healthcare for illegal immigrants [How Mike Bloomberg would expand health coverage, by Dan Diamond, Politico, December 19, 2019].

“Immigration doesn’t threaten America, it strengthens America,” Bloomberg declares.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar has lingered near the bottom of the pack for some months, but pulled off strong finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire. In New Hampshire, she finished a respectable third and earned nearly 20 percent of the vote. She’s rising in the polls, although still only at sixth place in the RCP polling average. She may emerge as a potential contender at a brokered convention if Democrat insiders believe Bernie’s radicalism will doom the party.

However, Klobuchar is almost as radical as Bernie when it comes to illegal immigration. The senator hasn’t offered a formal immigration plan, but she did declare at a July debate that immigrants “are America” and our economy needs more of them [Klobuchar: ‘Immigrants Are America,’ U.S. Needs Foreigners ‘in Our Fields,’ by John Binder, Breitbart, June 26, 2019]. She believes demographic transformation is enshrined in the Constitution and “we are not going to be able to succeed in the world if we do not invite everyone to be part of our economy.”

Klobuchar also believes illegal immigrants should receive government healthcare [Klobuchar: I Support Providing Health Care to Illegal Immigrants, by Graham Piro, Washington Free Beacon, June 30, 2019]. She supports Amnesty and explicitly wants to increase immigration. She wants immigration enforcement reduced and deportations reserved only for “those who threaten the safety and security of our country” [Amy Klobuchar: 2020 Democratic presidential candidate shares her views on current issues, USA Today, November 7, 2019]. Last month, she apologized for her past support of making English the official language and said she now opposes the idea.

And these are the “moderate” alternatives to Sanders.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren still lingers in the race as a more acceptable Sanders. It’s still possible for her to win the nomination, but her chances have dropped significantly after humiliating finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire. Her immigration plan is almost identical to the Vermont senator’s proposals [Elizabeth Warren’s immigration proposal goes much further than a pathway to citizenship, by Tara Golshan, Vox, July 12, 2019].

The two other candidates, businessman Tom Steyer and Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, are longshots. Both conform to the Left’s immigration dogmas [I will roll back Trump’s racist immigration policies as president, by Tom Steyer, CNN, February 14, 2020]. Gabbard shows some independence on foreign policy, yet her campaign site only touts her liberal stances on immigration [Tulsi Gabbard: 'It’s fair' to say 2020 Democrats advocate for 'open borders', by Mike Brest, Washington Examiner, September 10, 2019]. There’s no indication she would oppose Amnesty or try to restrict immigration.

Democrats are all Open Borders zealots because immigration imports more Democratic voters, advances non-white interests, indulges white liberal pathologies, and satisfies corporate demands. Democrats aren’t interested in appealing to working-class whites anymore. The party favors affluent whites, who are more likely to hate their race and want more immigration than any other group [America’s White Saviors, by Zach Goldberg, Tablet, June 5, 2019]. Open borders appeals to them and the rest of the new Democratic Party. They are all united in their desire to destroy the Historic American Nation.

Middle Americans have no choice but to vote against them.
