The NEW YORK TIMES’ Tucker Carlson Hit Piece Admits Immigration Is The Key Issue

Podcaster Scott Greer’s tweet (see featured image above) in response to being quoted in The New York Times’ long-awaited hit job(s) on Fox TV host Tucker Carlson, reflects my own reaction: NYT hack Nicholas Confessore unthinkingly concedes that the key to Tucker Carlson Tonight’s success was its embrace of immigration patriotism (“white panic over the country’s changing ethnic composition” in NYT-speak).

In other words, the show has moved into the niche opened by the Regime Media’s systematic suppression of Politically Incorrect facts about immigration and anti-white crime.

This is exactly the niche that VDARE.com in its humble high-concept way has aimed to fill since its launch on Christmas Eve, 1999.

We are proud that Confessore says Carlson “takes up story lines otherwise relegated to far-right or nativist websites like Vdare.” Maybe that’s because they’re, you know, NEWS? Maybe Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal immigration enthusiast Editor Paul Gigot, responsible for misleading an entire generation of American business leaders, will now get the message? (But see: invincible ignorance.)

The New York Times articles: How Tucker Carlson Stoked White Fear to Conquer Cable; How Tucker Carlson Reshaped Fox News — and Became Trump’s Heir; Inside the Apocalyptic Worldview of ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight.’

The third item is all-video. A VDARE.com friend who never watches television and was thus exposed to Tucker Carlson for the first time (these people exist!), was so delighted that he wants me to say it would make a perfect Tucker-For-President ad.

Needless to say, this was not The New York Times’ intention. It’s an example of what Steve Sailer calls “Point-n-Sputter” — the American Left aka the Ruling Class is now hermetically sealed and is genuinely dumbfounded and appalled by contradictory facts, analyses and reactions.

I make a cameo appearance in the second of these NYT hit jobs because I’ve known Fox owner Rupert Murdoch for more than thirty years. And, the NYT apparently thinks, if Murdoch knew allegedly neo-Nazi me, maybe that means his employee Tucker Carlson can also be smeared a neo-Nazi!!!

What I actually said in response to Nicholas Confessore’s email query, received just a couple hours before his deadline on a story he was supposedly working on all year, was:

[Since The New York Times has awarded itself a License to Lie, which the courts have not overturned (yet)], you cannot expect any sane person to talk to you.

I guess the bit in brackets hurt The New York Times’ feelings because it was weirdly edited out of the published version.

On The New York Times’ awarding itself a License To Lie, see here.

It’s surprising to me that there are so many minor factual inaccuracies in this massive series. For example:

Mr. Brimelow sued The Times in 2020 for articles in which either he or VDare was described as white nationalist; a judge dismissed the case later that year.

But in fact the issue was not whether I was a “white nationalist” — but whether I was an “open” white nationalist, and The New York Times conceded its culpability by stealth-editing out the word “open.”

The trial court judge also conceded that this point was actionable, but wrongly claimed that the stealth edit repaired the damage.

Interestingly, The New York Times also says “a separate lawsuit brought by VDare is still pending.”

This is news to me (but watch this space).

Similarly, The New York Times also says that, following doxing, Scott Greer “cut ties” with the Daily Caller. But my understanding is that he was (disgracefully) fired.

I don’t know if my appearance in this hit piece counts as 15 seconds, or even 1.5 seconds, of fame. But, anyway, I am honored to be associated, however speciously, with Tucker Carlson, who has emerged as the leading patriot journalist of his generation.
