The Toxic Loves of Jeb Bush: Amnesty and Crony Capitalism

So it’s official: the GOP donor class will nominate Jeb Bush for president in 2016. Robert Shrum says so! [Why the GOP Needs a Return to the Bush Leagues, Daily Beast, April 21, 2014]. Who can the GOP trust better than a veteran Democratic campaign consultant?

But in fact, Jeb Bush will be a toxic asset by the time the primary season begins, because of his two loves: Amnesty and Crony Capitalism — the latter amply illustrated by yesterday’s New York Times hit piece Jeb Bush’s Rush to Make Money May Be Hurdle [by Michael Barbaro, April 20, 2014].

Amnesty is already a problem for Bush after he claimed that illegal immigration is “an act of love.” [Jeb Bush: Crossing the Border Illegally an 'Act of Love', Breitbart TV, April 6, 2014]. It was reportedly the reason his name was booed at the recent New Hampshire Freedom Summit [Jeb Bush Was Public Enemy No. 1 At One Of The Year’s Biggest Conservative Gatherings, by Brett Logiurato, Business Insider, April 14, 2014].

But Bush also used the word “love” in a much more significant part of his trashy speech, when he made this stunning admission:

The great number of people who come to this country come because they have no opportunities in other places. They may love their country, but they come here because they want to provide for their families. And they can make a contribution to our country if we actually organized ourselves in a better way.

Emphasis added. It was this second mention of “love” that should forever brand Jeb Bush as a traitor. Even though he admits that immigrants are devoted to a different country, he still wants them here in large numbers.

Does he have a national death wish? Or is he simply an idiot?

American patriots should be grateful that Jeb Bush has provided proof of what the multiculti Republicans secretly understand: many of today’s immigrants are committed to their home nations, not to the United States. Some of them can’t even resist their disloyalty during the Olympics.

Amnesty shills like Jeb Bush and John McCain claim that Hispanics are “values voters.” But the evidence is overwhelmingly to the contrary.

However, if Mitt Romney had lukewarm support from the patriotic grassroots, then Jeb Bush can expect to be tarred and feathered. For there is something else about Jeb that will make him a toxic asset as a politician: his position as senior adviser at the Wall Street firm Barclays Capital. [Jeb Bush Ties to Street Could be Hurdle in Presidential Run, by Charlie Gasparino, Fox Business, April 9, 2014]

Already bearing the stench of the internationalist elite that he was bred to be, Jeb is literally working for Wall Street — earning $1 million a year, according to The New York Times.

Who better to put the middle class in a vice than an Amnesty-supporting plutocrat? And what better candidate to woo a public stuck between the undeserving poor and the voracious elite?

Even worse, Sunday’s New York Times story reveals that Bush used family connections to attempt (unsuccessfully) to recruit the notorious Mexican billionaire (and Amnesty booster) Carlos Slim to bail out Lehman Brothers — and (echoes of the Massachusetts Romneycare stumbling block) that he has earned more than $2 million as a board member of Tenet Health Care, a major supporter of (and beneficiary from) Obamacare.

Sure, Jeb plays the sober, sensible alternative to his rootin’-tootin’ brother. But that’s not going to help him with ordinary Americans, who are fed up with bailing out the lower classes and Wall Street; fed up with underwriting the cultural degradation that destroys their families and communities, a degradation that seeps up from the “disadvantaged” and is blasted by loudspeaker from Hollywood and New York City.

Contrast Jeb Bush with past American leaders like Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt famously made clear:

There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American but something else also, isn’t an American at all. [Letter To The American Defense Society, January 3, 1919 (PDF)]

Of course, since Theodore Roosevelt’s time, we’ve fallen a long way. Now we’d be lucky to have more immigrants claiming to be “American but something else also.” Many immigrants today aren’t even pretending to be American. They’re “something else” entirely, and to hell with America. As Bush correctly informed us, the illegals “love their country,” meaning their Latin American swamps of Leftist disorder. [Latin America’s New Authoritarians, by Juan Forero, Washington Post, July 22, 2012]

And don’t bother trying to talk the illegals (or their ungrateful descendants) out of their racial and national loyalties, because they’re being taught in government education camps that they’re better than ordinary white Americans simply because their skin is brown and they originated in a poor, backwards minority nation.

Better yet, if they’re Mexican, odds are they believe that the American Southwest rightfully belongs to their people to begin with. The Mexican immigrant, in his culturally enriching way, is simply retaking what belongs to his basket case of a country.

Theodore Roosevelt insisted on assimilation and condemned divided loyalties. Most Americans share those beliefs. But Jeb Bush has better ideas than your silly nationalism. He thinks we need to see to it that we’ve “organized ourselves in a better way” for those loving, Leftist, Third World nationalists. After we’ve “organized ourselves in a better way” for the illegal hordes, then we’ll finally see that great “contribution” they’ve been waiting to make.

And what “contribution” is Bush talking about? A servile, low-wage workforce will certainly be a contribution to the coffers of many an unpatriotic business. But Bush probably also thinks that illegals would make a contribution to our tax base. Like many Republicans, he’s an educated jackass when it comes to the simplest questions of math, demographics, and budgeting. There will be no such contribution to the tax base, as the 2013 Heritage report conclusively proved, as the British figured out, and as the Swedes have slowly begun to admit [Immigrants cost Britain £3,000 a year each, says report, by David Barrett, The Telegraph, 12 March 2014; Sweden joins Europe-wide backlash against immigration, by Ian Traynor, The Guardian, 24 Sept. 2010].

The anti-white, Anglophobic London Guardian quoted a “center-left” Swede:

Even in the jungles of Africa, they don’t know where Sweden is, but they know they can come here, get money and not need to work …

How come the Swedes figured out the immigration-welfare curse, and we haven’t?

Europeans are slowly becoming infuriated with their multiculti leaders, and are revolting against mass immigration.

But America is far behind the curve of this civilizational advance. Venal elitists like Jeb Bush play a major role in holding us back.
