Thousands of New York City Police officers turned their backs to Mayor Bill de Blasio as he spoke at funeral of Officer Rafael Ramos on December 27. [Thousands of NYPD Officers Turn Their Backs as de Blasio Speaks at Funeral, by Katie McHugh, Breitbart, December 27, 2014] Leftists and their fellow-travelers who want to keep the Narrative focused on “racist police” have expressed rage at the action [NYPD Throws Public Tantrum at Funeral, by Charles Johnson, Little Green Footballs, December 27, 2014] But these kinds of Culture War skirmishes will recur again and again — because the real divide in American politics is no longer between Republicans and Democrats, but between these who accept the Narrative created by the Main Stream Media, now blatantly coordinated as revealed by the Journolist scandal, and those who rebel against it.
The center of gravity in American politics is no longer government. Indeed, nominal control of the government hardly even seems to matter. As the country frantically debates the MSM-created non-issue of police brutality against nonwhites, the Republican Party is utterly absent — not just when it comes to law enforcement, but on the CRomnibus Bill, Obama’s unilateral Amnesty, and on the critical matter of Eric Holder’s replacement.
The only Republican who spoke up at all: the endlessly-disappointing Rand Paul, who predictably postured as a fighter against a racist criminal justice system and posed in an especially awkward-looking photo with Al Sharpton.
Expect a @SenRandPaul flip flop about this moment with @TheRevAl. Al Sharpton wont help in GOP primary. #tcot #tgdn pic.twitter.com/zW24fkryq9

In fact, Barack Obama is counting on Republican support to help him push through series of free trade bills widely opposed by liberals [Obama hopes to enlist GOP in push for trade pact, despite Democratic resistance, by David Nakamura, Washington Post, December 26, 2014].
The flip side of this, of course: it will then be easy to paint the new Republican Congress as simply a corporate takeover of the legislature. But House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell seem blindly determined to make Elizabeth Warren the next President of the United States — while ensuring that Republican legislators don’t do anything that could actually advance the interests of the Middle Americans who voted for them.
At the same time, despite the execution-style murders of two NYPD cops, the MSM’s campaign against police officers will continue — as will violence against police at the hands of America’s more “vibrant” citizens:
It’s not surprising that minorities angry that neither Officer Rafael Ramos nor Officer Wenjian Liu were white are hatching serious plots to specifically target white policemen [Vile rant of ‘cop-killer wannabe’: They should have killed two whites, by Lorena Mongelli, Matt Abrahams, and Bruce Golding, New York Post, December 25, 2014]
What Steve Sailer has brilliantly called “megaphoning” has the power to create its own political reality, taking what would otherwise be isolated incidents and turning them into national movements. [The New Reality Based Community, by Gregory Hood, RadixJournal, December 12, 2014] This is reinforced by a vast educational establishment that literally does nothing but teach non-whites how to be angry at supposed white oppression.
It’s not surprising that Kici Motley, who whom Mayor Bill de Blasio trusted to be his director of the Brooklyn community affairs unit, felt it appropriate to tweet “F — the Police” after a report that cops had shot a knife wielding man in August 2012. [Flashback: De Blasio Aide Tweeted ‘F***. The. Police,’ Another Dated Anti-Cop Ex-Con, by Chuck Ross, Daily Caller, December 23, 2014]
Conversely, when incidents occur that don’t fit into the Narrative of white oppression, the MSM suddenly decrees that these are simply chance occurrences. Thus, black-on-white crime is invariably described as “random,” a robbery “gone wrong,” or being in the “wrong place at the wrong time.” [Housekeeping manager at luxury New York hotel stalks and slays beautiful resident; and, the meaning of the phrase, “a burglary/robbery/rape/carjacking gone wrong,” by Lawrence Auster, A View From the Right, September 22, 2009]
In this latest case, Officers Ramos and Liu died as a direct result of a MSM hate campaign that told millions of minorities that racist police were gunning down innocent blacks in the street. When someone responded predictably, the very same people who felt emboldened to link Sarah Palin to the shooting of Representative Gabby Giffords were suddenly furious at conservatives supposedly trying to “politicize” the murder. [The right politicizes murders: How it exploited tragedy, told de Blasio how to raise his son, by Joan Walsh, Salon, December 22, 2014]
We are now at point where the facts don’t matter to most people on both sides. Television media coverage is now almost entirely focused on opinion, rather than factual reporting, with the Leftist channel MSNBC being the worst offender [Pew Study Finds MSNBC the Most Opinionated Cable News Channel By Far, by Jeff Bercovici, Forbes, March 18, 2013]
Americans now generally only choose news sources that fit with their existing opinions [Study: Americans Choose Media Messages That Agree With Their Views, Ohio State University, May 28, 2009]
Most importantly, even when people are presented with new information, it only tends to reinforce their already-existing opinions. [How facts backfire, by Joe Keohane, Boston Globe, July 11, 2010]
What is really happening is that Americans are separating into what can be termed Narrative Blocs. They understand political issues in fundamentally different and irreconcilable ways. Obviously, racial divisions are part of this, but even the way Republicans and Democrats interpret a set of common facts has become mutually incomprehensible. [On racial issues, America is divided both black and white and red and blue, by Dan Balz and Scott Clement, Washington Post, December 27, 2014]
The good news? Anything that delegitimizes the MSM and prevents it from being seen as a “neutral” political actor is a gain for American patriots. The historic American nation lives under a state of de facto occupation. The MSM is not a watchdog of the System, but an essential component.
The great strategic objective for Americans who care about their country is to encourage our people to view the MSM as bereft of integrity and legitimacy as that of the late East Germany. After the lies of Trayvon Martin, Ferguson, and the UVA Hoax, patriots need to treat the press with aggressive contempt, just as anti-Islamic protesters in Germany greet reporters with chants of “lying media.”
The MSM do not deserve a response in good faith. Like the New York Police Department, Americans should simply turn their backs on the MSM and its Narrative.
They are nothing to us but an obstacle in the fight for our country.
