Re: Low IQ & Conservative Beliefs Linked to Prejudice, By Stephanie Pappas, LiveScience.com, January 26, 2012

From: Mark Mallarde

This important scientific study leads to one ineluctable conclusion: your contributor Steve Sailer must have a low IQ. I am sure that Mr. Sailer will want to comment — if he has the ability to understand the study since I am sure he would be labeled "prejudiced" by the study’s authors.

See previous letters by Mark Mallarde.

By James Fulford writes: I know Mallarde is kidding, but I won’t even bother Sailer with this one.

The obvious answer is that certain beliefs are linked to class, and class is linked to IQ. See both The Bell Curve and Coming Apart: The State Of White America. However, I will say, since this basic information is missing from the LiveScience article, that the study is called Bright Minds and Dark Attitudes — Lower Cognitive Ability Predicts Greater Prejudice Through Right-Wing Ideology and Low Intergroup Contact, By Gordon Hodson and Michael A. Busseri, Psychological Science, 23, 187-195.

Gordon Hodson

One characteristic of low-minded stereotypers is judging people by their appearance. This is a picture of Hodson — do you think that you can guess from his appearance what conclusion any study he authored would come to? I thought you could.
