I usually watch Book-TV on C-SPAN during the weekend. I also subscribe to a Book-TV email alert regarding the upcoming shows. Here’s an excerpt from the latest one I received:

Immigration Stories

Sun. 10 am ET

Book TV has covered several books about immigration which tell the individual stories of immigrants to the United States. With Congress preparing to debate the issue of immigration, Book TV has put together portions of these author talks. You can watch each of the events in full online at www.booktv.org.

So "(w)ith Congress preparing to debate the issue of immigration, Book TV has put together portions of these author talks" on the usual emotional tales of sacrifice, courage, fortitude, yada yada. In fact, this "Immigration Stories" segment is categorized under "Human Interest".. Is this a deliberate attempt to sway Public Opinion?

Let’s give Book-TV the benefit of the doubt and helpfully suggest a book author interview they can replay since "Congress is preparing to debate the issue of immigration".

Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster

With Peter Brimelow and Brian Lamb

About the Program

Peter Brimelow writes about modern immigration trends in his book, "Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster." Mr. Brimelow argues that legislation passed in 1965 has resulted in negative trends in immigration in the United States, including an influx of immigrants that he says in engulfing America. The author says that the latest immigration wave consists of immigrants who are less educated, less skilled, and less likely to share American ideals, which he argues is a detriment to American culture.
