Immigration

We pledge the Republican party to the enactment of appropriate laws to give relief from the constantly growing evil of induced or undesirable immigration, which is inimical to the progress and welfare of the people of the United States.

James Fulford writes: The amazing thing is that only 12 years later, they actually enacted a very good immigration law, the Immigration Act Of 1924, and Calvin Coolidge signed it. (Also amazing: they were talking about legal immigration!)
