Re: Peter Bradley’s article The Strange Rebirth of “Jack Kemp Republicanism”
From: A Florida Reader
The full Florida legislature, which is controlled by the GOP, passed a bill last week to give illegal aliens in-state tuition rates as long as they attended a Florida school 3 years before graduation. Governor Rick Scott [Email him] says that he will sign the bill into law. [Full Florida Legislature passes in-state tuition bill, AP, May 2, 2014]
It seems Governor Scott, who won election by a squeaker in 2010 has jumped on the "Jack Kemp Republicanism" bandwagon, which is really the GOP death spiral. Governor Scott has taken his cue from GOP establishment darlings Governors Rick Perry of Texas and Chris Christie of New Jersey and others including former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
Prior to this vote the Florida Legislature had refused to pass in-state tuition rates for illegals. This vote comes the same week that a Pew poll revealed that 1 out of 5 "Floridians" are foreign born. Well, the Florida legislators and Governor must have gotten the memo from Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus to keep "the stupid party" stupid and lose more and more elections while further alienating their white base, and continue to shaft the American worker and watch Reince Priebus amazingly keep his job!
I don’t know if they knew each other back then but Reince Priebus and Florida GOP Senator Marco Rubio, another treason-lobby tool, were classmates together at University of Miami Law School. They sure see eye to eye on being traitors to their nation and party.
Unless GOP Senator Jeff Sessions (Super patriot — Alabama) or Donald Trump (fool me twice, shame on me) runs for the White House in 2016, the generic white immigration patriot won’t have a dog in that fight. Maybe the political landscape will change by 2016 but as it stands now the GOP are doing their level best to turn Florida permanently blue.
