Russian revolutionary Nikolai Chernychevsky, Lenin’s hero, coined the phrase, "The worse, the better."
Instead of freaking out over the rumor that Obama is going to parole 20 million illegal aliens, let’s pray that he does!
Through inaction, the government has already "paroled" most illegal aliens. Only a token few are sacrificed to maintain the fiction that immigration laws are enforced. So an official Obama parole would have no practical effect.
However, a parole is 100 percent reversible, a condition that is not in possible if a Congressional bill puts illegal aliens on a "path to citizenship."
A parole would also radicalize into action the more than 60 percent of Americans who support Arizona’s SB1070.
Remember: "The worse, the better."
Mendez is active in Help Save Maryland, an organization dedicating to exposing illegal alien corruption in his state. His previous letters are here.
By Joe Guzzardi comments: I asked a Washington D.C. lawyer his opinion whether parole would be reversible.
Here’s what he told me:
"Parole is only for a stated period of time, usually less than one year, and can be revoked by the AG at anytime. According to the USCIS website (below), it can only be granted to an alien who is 'currently outside of the US'. Moreover, by statute it can only be granted on a 'case by case' basis, according to 8 USC 1182(d)(5).
"Some possible loopholes are that 8 USC 1182(d)(5) was enacted by Congress to create a statutory basis for parole and to limit its use. The President may claim that he has a constitutional authority to grant parole in addition to the statutory authority given to the Attorney General. If he paroled illegal aliens under color of that authority, he (or the next President) could certainly withdraw the parole at any time.
"Even though the government’s own website says that parole may be granted only to aliens 'currently outside the US', there is a legal fiction that aliens who enter illegally are technically 'outside' the US until they have presented themselves for inspection. This fiction serves the good purpose of denying the alien certain rights until he presents himself, but could arguably be used to give parole to illegal aliens who are inside the US after sneaking across the border (but not to visa overstayers)."
