Re: Brenda Walker’s Blog: Hispanic Dishonor Of America’s WWII Veterans Continues Unabated

The complaints from Mexicans keep on coming about Ken Burns' PBS World War Two documentary because his original version did not pay enough attention to Hispanic veterans. Or so say Hispanic activists.

But it clearly makes more sense for Burns to focus on veterans of Japanese, Italian and German descent since most are first- and second-generation Americans with relatives living in the countries with which we were at war.

For that reason, those veterans are more likely than Hispanics to have had a unique experience.

They're not whining about being ignored since, unlike so many Hispanics, they consider themselves Americans first.
