Re: A Suburban Illinois Reader Note Grassroots Support For Deportation — Of Justin Bieber

The Justin Bieber petition link in last night’s letter is wrong, that’s for a junk, poorly worded petition with only 26,000 signatures.

The real, wisely worded petition, with 220K signatures is below:

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

Deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card.

We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society.

It would be good to update your latest letter to the editor to point to the correct petition in the two places you've linked to the junk one.

By James Fulford writes: The point may be moot, because Bieber has self-deported! He turned himself in to Toronto Police to answer charges of punching a limo driver outside a Toronto nightclub in December.

”The Toronto Police Service requested that Justin Bieber appear in Toronto today to face an allegation of assault relating to an incident on December 29, 2013. We anticipate that this matter will be treated as a summary offense, the equivalent of a misdemeanor in the United States.“Our position is that Mr. Bieber is innocent." [Justin Bieber charged in Toronto with assault, accused of striking driver, By John R. Kennedy, Global News, January 30, 2014 ]

Of course, if he gets off, he stil has his 0-1 Visa, so feel free to sign the petition.

However, it’s worth mentioning that wha to immigration enthusiasts is the moral horror of "self-deportation" is what we in First World countries call "coming home."
