A Reader Is Frustrated By NYT’s "Great Replacement" Doublethink

From An Anonymous Non-Xenophobe

According to the NYT, the Great Replacement is a "theory" and a "white supremacist" one at that. [Minutes Before El Paso Killing, Hate-Filled Manifesto Appears Online, by Tim Arango, Nicholas Bogel-Burroughs and Katie Benner, August 3, 2019] Also in the NYT: We Can Replace Them | In Georgia, a chance to rebuke white nationalism, by Michelle Goldberg, October 29, 2018.

These people exist to drive me utterly mad. I don’t hate anyone. I don’t want anyone killed or hurt. I want "supremacy" over no one. I just don’t want my country to become a Third World country — which I'm now 100% convinced is going to happen. What right do we have to hand such a country over to our children and grandchildren?

I've lived and worked abroad. I speak two foreign languages to varying degrees of proficiency. I've traveled to four continents. But to the NYT, I'm no doubt a "xenophobe" for calling out the suicidal folly of mass immigration for over 35 years now (yes, I started talking about excess legal immigration in the spring of 1983). Sigh …

This will end in tears.
