From "Spirit of the Fighting 69th"
The maxim of the law every first year law student learns is, “the malefactor may not profit from his malfeasance”, a point lost on representatives Luis Gutierrez and Krysten Sinema who have hired two illegal aliens as staffers, and yes, despite the magic tricks of DHS and the administration, they are still illegal. [See Dream Act activist now on Sinema’s staff, Arizona Daily Star, January 19, 2013, and Congressional staff jobs provide 'dreamers' a leg up to citizenship, Washington Times, February 4, 2013]
Only the Congress can change the law, not DHS, not the President, whatever either may think. Refusing to comply with the law puts these Democratic members in violation of the oath every federal employee takes to uphold the Constitution.
Although Americans have consistently said no to the Dream Act, amnesty, and every other action aimed at deconstructing the American nation and culture, the governing class in Washington pays no heed, behaving like French aristocrats before the revolution, displaying disdain for the very citizens whose interests they are charged with protecting.
By their actions Gutierrez and Sinema have shown contempt for their legal constituents, the Constitution, the law, and their country; so do those on the other side of the aisle who want to reward lawbreakers with “a path to citizenship.”
