I agree with James Fulford’s comment that The Passion of Christ made money from a population segment ignored by the movie industry, despite the industry’s cut-throat passion for money from all other segments.

Another example of leaving big money lying on the table is the television industry’s refusal to produce a competitor to Fox, which is a monopoly by default.
