Have you read the latest from Pope Francis? Apparently, Pope Francis called the 18th century Franciscan missionary Junípero Serra “one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.”[ Pope Francis praises Junipero Serra as U.S. 'founding father', by Harriet Ryan, Los Angeles Times, May 2, 2015]

His Holiness believes the America of Junípero Serra and Spanish missionary to Texas Antonio Margil is about to unfold in the fullness of real time — hahahaha.

It’s already happening! Next thing you know the Pope will insist that the Spanish evangelists wrote the Constitution.

By James Fulford writes: They can’t have written the Constitution, that was the Iroquois Confederacy. (Actually, it was James Madison, but no one cares about him any more.) Junipero Serra’s mission to evangelize the Indians is now officially racist (see Relationship with Native Californiansin his Wikipedia article) but the Pope is planning to canonize him in September of this year. An amusing point in the LA Times:

FOR THE RECORD: A previous version of this post said that Serra is set to become the first Latino saint. He will be America’s first Latino saint.

As is frequently the case when they're talking about "Latinos", they've forgotten about the very existence of the entirely white country of Spain.
