With the holiday travel season now here, many air passengers are boarding the plane with service dogs and emotional support animals — a practice that critics say is open to fraud.
How do airlines know whether these pets are true service animals and not impostors wearing an official-looking vest bought online for $39.99? The answer is, they don’t. Critics say many travelers claim their pets are service or emotional support animals because they don’t want to pay for them to travel.

While many of these animals are dogs, passengers have also gotten on board with birds, including a peacock, cats and other animals.

At JFK Airport last week, I saw a bunch of Spanish-speaking, dark, pock-marked mestizos who looked like they might run a stolen car chop shop or a dog fighting ring. They had a pit bull with one of the mail order service dog vests.

James Fulford writes: There’s a story on TakiMag by David Cole who notes that gay bars tend to discriminate against service dogs, since they’ve seen too many of their patrons bringing in their stereotypically adorable little dogs under false pretenses. He admits that the owners have a point

But here’s the thing: The gay bar owners have a point regarding service dogs and the ADA. The law is a hot mess of government illogic. Establishments are allowed to bar any dogs that are not “genuine” service animals (as opposed to simple pets or “emotional support animals”), but, and here comes government doing what it does best — crafting irrational and contradictory rules and regulations — establishments may not demand proof that a dog is a genuine service animal. But as he goes on to point out, the law doesn’t care that they have a point — and gays don’t care that the people who oppose “transgendered” males in the women’s bathroom have a point, too.

Mind you, the worst that can happen when some gay gent falsely claims that his perfectly coiffed poodle is a service dog is that other patrons become annoyed. On the other hand, letting any male perv into the ladies’ room might result in women getting raped. That’s a bit more serious, but who cares, right? SJWs, and the government bureaucracy that loves them for all the new, expansive powers they push for, don’t care about such collateral damage.
