Re: Brenda Walker’s Blog: Somali Diversity Fest Lobbed Into Lewiston
How can Somalis justify their use of "diaspora" when that word has been used, as long as I can remember, to refer to the dispersal of the tribes of Israel, i.e., Jews?
The most logical answer is because the word is proven to generate a sympathetic emotion — in this case for Somali refugees.
No matter how Muslim chose to use "diaspora," it smacks of the most obvious hypocrisy, to use a word long-associated with Judaism to describe a Muslim issue.
Leverett’s opinion about fellow Marine General Peter Pace and his disingenuous immigration views is here. Previous letters she wrote about Mychal Bell, multiculturalism gone mad at the Denver Public Library and a local school teacher busted for drugs are here, here and here.
