From A Texas Reader

Trump is channelling FDR:

“We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace — business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering.

They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.

Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me — and I welcome their hatred.”

— President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Address at Madison Square Garden, New York City, October 31, 1936

Compare that with this:
"Every day you pick up a newspaper, or turn on the nightly news, and you hear about some self-interest banker or some discredited Washington insider says they oppose our campaign. Or some encrusted old politician says they oppose our campaign. Or some big time lobbyist says they oppose our campaign.

I wear their opposition as a badge of honor. Because it means I am fighting for REAL change, not just partisan change. I am fighting — all of us across the country are fighting — for peaceful regime change in our own country. The media-donor-political complex that’s bled this country dry has to be replaced with a new government of, by and for the people."

— Donald Trump, Speech at West Bend, WI, August 16, 2016

James Fulford writes: As a member of the paleoconservative Alt Right, I generally disapprove of FDR’s policies for complex historical and economic reasons.(See the 1948 book The Roosevelt Myth, by John T. Flynn for details.) However, there’s no doubt that he was a fighter, winning the presidency an unprecedented and unrepeatable FOUR times, winning the Second World War, and best of all, during the Depression, deporting up to two million Mexicans.
