It appears that some Mormon Republican politicians and voters are so offended by leaked tapes of Donald Trump’s crude remarks from 2005 that they are withdrawing their support from him. These include the following:
Here’s the story from various MSM sources — sources that normally hate Mormons because of their traditional morality:
I find this to be an incredible lack of judgment as by not voting for Donald Trump, or voting for their “rapefugee” enamored fellow Mormon, Evan McMullin, they are in actuality electing Hillary Clinton to office.
It is now a three-way toss up in Utah according to Rasmussen, that is 6 electoral votes if Trump loses Utah!
These Mormons in their tizzy of self-righteous indignation are choosing to ignore the fact that far-Left Hillary Clinton is reported to have had her own dalliances, to have an extremely foul mouth, and to have defamed the women who were sexually abused by her husband.
A major factor for Mormons who are repelled by Donald Trump is his reputation for being a rake with the ladies. Before damning Donald Trump however, Mormons should reacquaint themselves with the history of the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Prophet Joseph Smith, whose exploits with women were, and still are shocking.
In his thirty-eight years of life Joseph Smith was “married” in one form or another, to thirty or so women, eleven who were still married to other men (!), and he also married girls who were of the ages of 14 (2), 16 (2), and 17 (3).
Therefore, objectively Joseph Smith was involved in adultery, bigamy, polygamy, polyandry, and sex with underage girls. And yes, Smith also ran for president in 1844.
The Mormon church itself was hardly a model of veracity as it denied the existence of Joseph Smith’s tawdry multiple “marriages” until 2014! [New Mormon essay: Joseph Smith married teens, other men’s wives, By Peggy Fletcher Stack, The Salt Lake Tribune, October 22, 2014]
Mormons who hold themselves, and their church’s founder to be paragons of virtue, should tread lightly before condemning Donald Trump and making a voting decision that elects a dangerous, Open Borders radical such as Hillary Clinton to the presidency.
By James Fulford writes: We respect our LDS readers (and donors!) but most of the politicians mentioned above have supported Amnesty on religious grounds before Trump came along. We'll be publishing a letter from a Mormon reader tomorrow.
