I was shocked to learn the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has authorized various bogus immigration relief actions for foreign nationals from Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone because of the Ebola outbreak. [Ebola Outbreak-related Immigration Relief Measures to Nationals of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone Currently in the United States, USCIS, August 15, 2014] A total of 1,145 people were reported to have died from Ebola at the time of the announcement, which hardly makes it an “epidemic”. Some quick math — the combined population of these three nations is about 20M people…1K people dead is 0.005% of the population.
It is very apparent the pro-immigration advocate’s motto is (courtesy of Rahm Emanuel) “to never let a serious crisis go to waste”. I recall that with the Haitian earthquake the immigration deportation moratorium was granted within hours of the event, without any consideration of the negative impact of keeping masses of illegal Haitians in America. And it is still in effect, probably in perpetuity.
We will see how temporary these immigration “relief measures” for Ebola are. And if the Ebola virus spreads into other African nations they will undoubtedly be granted the same benefits.
The opportunism and mendacity of the pro-immigration advocates must never be underestimated. This “crisis” may be a vehicle for more African immigration to America that these radicals have desired for years.
