I just read Anonymous Connecticut Reader’s letter. I lived in California for over 20 years and witnessed the demographic changes going on all around me.

Connecticut? Wow, I remember as a kid in the '60’s taking The New Haven Line. It was another world from using the subway. It was a white world on that train. Fast forward to 2002, when I visited Connecticut and rode the New Haven. (Although it might've been called something else.) It looked like the NYC subway replete with several predatory types. No need to wonder what it’s like now!
