Re: James Fulford’s blog item Peter Brimelow’s 1995 FIRING LINE Debate On YouTube

From: An Illinois Paleoconservative

Having just finished watching the whole immigration debate from 20 years ago, I can say Peter Brimelow put up the best fight of the group by far! It took me most of a day to watch it with my house full of kids but is well worth it. It is nicely laid out on YouTube in 9 parts [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.] and I would strongly recommend it to any VDARE.com reader. As you watch it you can think “What if these idiots on the left only knew then what we know now?”

You will also note Frank Sharry and Ira Glasser are boiling mad at Brimelow. They attacked him the most by far, with pathetic shots that you could see come from true animosity. Good for Brimelow! Unfortunately, 20 years have proven him right in far worse ways than could have been imagined. Obama’s lawlessness couldn’t be seen coming then.

I always knew Arianna Huffington was a weak debater but having seen this I’m glad she jumped over to the Left. She was by far the worst not only on our side but in the group as a whole. Ed Koch, on the wrong side, did more to strengthen our argument than she did. She consistently walked into their traps and couldn’t form a complete or logical thought. Anything she did say only seemed to help the other side.

To her I say good riddance and I would love to see this debate take place again today!
