The French actress Brigitte Bardot was once considered to be not just a film star, but as a symbol of existential importance, the "locomotive of women’s history" [Happy birthday, Brigitte Bardot, by Agnes Poirier, The Guardian, September 21, 2009]. Today, the same liberal intellectuals who once turned her into a symbol of liberation revile her, as the French Republic habitually puts her on trial for objecting to the Islamic takeover of her country.
Now Bardot is speaking out against the #MeToo movement, which has become an increasingly clumsy and obvious power grab.
In an interview with Paris Match magazine, Bardot asserted that for actresses specifically, "not women in general," "the vast majority of cases" are "hypocritical, ridiculous, without interest."For the conservative, #MeToo is rather amusing to watch, as it is leading to the downfall of many liberal celebrities who defined themselves by sneering at people like us. Bardot went on to say that actresses "come on" to producers to get roles, "and then, so they'll be talked about, they say they were harassed."
She added: "In reality, rather than helping them, it hurts them."

But what #MeToo is about is the continuing efforts of the managerial elite to control social behavior. The end result of #MeToo, at least in the short term, is making sure no date or romantic encounter doesn’t lead to at least some kind of legal involvement. In the longer term of course, as Bardot seems to get and Michel Houellebecq explicitly predicts, Islam will be the ultimate arbiter of sexual relations in Europe if current trends continue.
