A Canadian teacher’s union has decided that deciding internal elections by majority vote is racist if the majority is not minority, and therefore will weight nonwhite votes more than white votes:
Will this be a trend?
Legal thinkers such as John C. Calhoun and Lani Guinier have argued for protecting minorities from losing elections.
But, somehow, I suspect this emerging philosophical principle will be discarded as soon as whites are no longer the voting majority, at which point “Scoreboard, baby!” will become the reigning mantra.
