Latinos who participated in a recent study about organic food labelling reportedly ranked "living wage" the most important factor in the standards meriting the organic label. Other factors up for consideration were humane treatement of animals (the standard that most appealed to women, European-Americans, younger people, and frequent organic purchasers), and local origin (favored by parents and older people).Since the consumer survey was targeted at 1,000 households on California’s central coast, this particular Latino opinion is less than surprising.
