The ever-enterprising Stephen Miller has come up with a wonderful idea:
I oppose Ukraine funding and have from the start. I favor a peace settlement and have from the start.
Regrettably, there is a substantial coalition of Republicans in Congress on the opposite side of this issue (as are, of course, all Democrats).
So how do we construct a winning formula that House leadership can execute and sustain through 2024?
Answer: the House embeds an ironclad immigration bill within the Ukraine supplemental. Inform Schumer and Biden this is the sole non-negotiable offer on the table.
Remain steadfast in this strategy and there are two — and only two — possible outcomes:
- Offer rejected. Ukraine doesn’t get another dollar.
- Offer accepted (after histrionic standoff). Congress halts the border invasion.
