Allan Wall’s column on the Treason Lobby’s purchase of Evangelical front-groups reminds me that from time we get critics citing that sonorous Bible verse about "Strangers In The Land," an cliche I refuted in Alien Nation (along with so many others, sigh) back in 1995 by quoting Deuteronomy 28:42-44. A friend has supplied another helpful verse, John 10:1:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
