Lots of helping wind, twice the legal limit, but still … 9.98 is the fastest any U.S. high school student ever ran 100 meters. The high school record is 10.00. This 9.98 translates to 10.16 with no wind and 10.07 at the legal limit. The second fastest time in the country this year is 10.26.

Matthew Boling of Strake Jesuit in Houston is also #2 in the country in the 200m and #1 by over a foot in the long jump at 26’3″.
