Blue-Eyed Mexican Consul Takes Office in the Carolinas, Ready to Meddle!

Mexico has a vast diplomatic network in the United States. Besides their embassy, they have 50 consulates, which allow them plenty of opportunities to meddle in U.S. immigration policy, especially since our government does nothing to stop them. So Mexican diplomats behave like colonial governors.

Several months back, the new Mexican imperial governor of the Carolinas took office, excuse me, the new Mexican Consul General of North and South Carolina took office.

Here’s a little piece about the new Mexican Consul General which was released (in English) by the Mexican foreign ministry It’s entitled Meet the new Consul General of Mexico in Raleigh, North Carolina and it was published on La Voz Latina Online.

The new Consul General of Mexico in Raleigh, North Carolina, Javier Diaz de Leon took office last month as the head of the Consulate General looking forward to working for the Mexican community in both North and South Carolina.

Mr. Diaz de Leon has 22 years of experience within the Mexican Foreign Service. He has been Deputy Consul in San Diego and New York City, as well as Head of the Office of Immigration and Hispanic Affairs at the Mexican Embassy in Washington, DC.

Notice the Mexican embassy has "Office of Immigration and Hispanic Affairs". Hmm. And look at Consul Diaz de Leon’s previous assignment:

His most recent position was as Executive Director of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME) at the Mexican Foreign Ministry headquarters. In April 2013, the Mexican President, Enrique Peña-Nieto, appointed Diaz de Leon as Consul General in Raleigh.

So what’s the new Consul General have planned?

During Diaz de Leon’s first meeting with his new team, he pointed out that among his priorities as Consul General he will approach and reach out to leaders from different Mexican communities in the Carolinas. He also emphasized the need to work very closely with government officials from both states, as well as with civil organizations that have been already working with the Consulate.

Furthermore, Diaz de Leon mentioned the outstanding job that the Mexican Foreign Ministry’s headquarters has done to strengthen services offered for Mexicans in both states during the past ten years. Nevertheless, he recognized that there are still considerable challenges ahead.

Like getting even more privileges and benefits for illegal alien Mexicans?

The Consul General stated that for the head of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, Jose Antonio Meade, and Under Secretary for North America, Sergio Alcocer, it is imperative to provide the attention needed particularly to Mexicans in vulnerable conditions. In this context, Diaz de Leon encourages all Mexicans who are facing any legal issue or in need of legal orientation, to visit the Consulate.

He also emphasized the need to keep Mexicans informed regarding any update to the immigration reform that it is being discussed in U.S. Congress. Moreover, Diaz de Leon underscored the efforts that the Consulate General is undertaking to prevent Mexicans from falling victims of fraud due to legal consultants charging unnecessary fees.

How about the Consul General’s education?

The Consul General attained his degree in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a Masters in International Conflict Negotiation from the University of Kent in England.

In this photo of Diaz de Leon you can see very clearly his blue eyes and European facial features.
