BusinessWeek Charges Political Intervention In Offshoring Report

BusinessWeek reports that a report on offshoring by Commerce Department staffers was altered by "political appointees," AKA All The President’s Men.
After holding off for more than a year, the Commerce Dept. has quietly released a study of offshoringothe movement of white-collar jobs to low-wage countries. But it’s not the even-handed assessment completed by staff analysts in June, 2004, after six months of research. The staff report was largely ditched, say outside experts who heard the staffers' views. Instead, these critics charge, Commerce political appointees put out a 12-page report that portrays offshoring as an unconditional boon to the U.S. economy.

BusinessWeek provides a web-only document dump of the originals of the report, before and after spin, which is something that you don’t always get from treezines. You do almost always get such links to the originals in VDARE.com articles, of course. (And if you're feeling grateful, you can click here to donate.)

One further VDARE.com web exclusive:why don’t you email Secretary of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez, and ask him what’s going on?

(Thanks to John Miano for pointing this out)
