Commenter silviosilver suggests:

How do you make Churchill’s “fight them on the beaches” speech work in the 21st century?

Well, for starters it needs to be updated to fit prevailing sensibilities and contemporary crises.

Here’s my attempt, We Shall Welcome Them On The Beaches:

Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Alt Right and all the odious apparatus of nationalist rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall welcome the refugees in France, we shall welcome them on the seas and on the oceans, we shall welcome them with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall open our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall welcome them on the beaches, we shall welcome them on the landing grounds, we shall welcome them in the fields and in the streets, we shall welcome them in the hills; we shall always surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were defended or prospering, then other white people beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the U.S. fleet, would carry on the struggle, until in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the capitulation and inundation of the old.
