Last week I noted the charming Congressman Raul Grijalva (Mexican-AZ 7th) might be in trouble — and now it appears the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee thinks so too. DCCC looks to rescue Rep. Grijalva By Sean J. Miller — The Hill 10/16/10 reports:
To help save the party from an embarrassing defeat, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee went up on the air with a TV ad targeting Grijalva’s opponent, Republican Ruth McClung… It started airing on Saturday. The DCCC had previously only had reserved TV airtime in the district starting on Oct. 26, according to a Republican strategist who tracks Democratic ad buys. (VDARE.com emphasis)
This is highly significant. 2010 is not a year in which the DCCC has money to waste or is short of campaigns needing help.
Raul Grijalva and Ruth McClung are extreme contrasts — and not just visually. Grijalva (NumbersUSA career rank F- ) was an important Open Borders leader well before his SB170 boycott call. Beyond that, he is generally a man of the extreme left. His Wikipedia entry reports
…in 2008, he was among 12 members rated by National Journal as tied for most liberal overall… For the first session of the 111th Congress, Grijalva received a 100 percent score from Americans for Democratic Action, Peace Action, the League of Conservation Voters, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and several other notable groups
Needless to say, the Grijalva forces are already passing the word amongst their crowd that the other side is racist — for instance by Mrs. Grijalva here.
If that means that whites in AZ-7th will vote for their ethnic group interests, VDARE.com can only hope it is true.
