Of course, the great and good want to abolish the Atlanta Braves’ American Indian war chant, their tomahawk arm-waving, and the team name in favor of something more appropriate to the times, like the Atlanta Anxiety Disorders.
The onrushing War on Fun raises a question about Halloween: will it be abolished or made mandatory?
This year, some schools forbade students to dress up because Halloween is racist or whatever.
But Halloween is also a huge gay holiday.
Perhaps next year, schools will order their students to cross-dress for Halloween to celebrate Trans-scendence?
Or anti-Halloween craziness might fade the way the early 2000s War on Christmas seems to have receded slightly as the activists discovered, to their surprise, that Christmas is just about the most popular thing in the world.
