Each Migrant Costs Massachusetts $64 A Day To Feed

Governor Maura Healey continues to turn Massachusetts into a Migrant Magnet by relying on the state’s “Right to Shelter” law, which was passed in 1983 to guarantee housing to anyone in the state who needed it. Back then, most people assumed this law applied to Americans in dire financial need, but the Soros Left has been pretending that the law applies to every individual on planet Earth. If anything, the Americans in dire financial need are being ignored.

The good news is that things have gotten so bad that even the local CBS affiliate has started to notice the hefty price tag that comes with housing migrants in hotels across the Commonwealth. [How much is Massachusetts Spending to Shelter and Feed Migrants and Homeless, by Cheryl Fiandaca, WBZ News, February 16, 2024] The WBZ News report shows that the state has contracts totalling $116 million for the first six months of 2024. The real eye popper is the $64 a day cost to feed the migrants:

In some cases, the hotels are collecting money from the state for three meals a day, $16 for breakfast, $17 for lunch and $31 for dinner. That means $64 dollars a day per person.

New report from @wbz shows that MA has spent more than $116 million just on hotels to house illegals.

The state also pays food costs that amount to $16 for breakfast, $17 for lunch, $31 for dinner totaling $64 dollars of your taxes a day per illegal. https://t.co/UcfXWTdtMC

For $31, you can buy a really nice dinner at most restaurants in Boston. It’s therefore hard to imagine why the migrants would ever want to leave this situation and return to their home countries or move out of the hotels and live on the streets. Who can doubt that these migrants will become very agitated if and when the state ever decides to take that hotel room and meal benefit away from them.

This is not going to end well.
