Happy St. George’s Day! UKIP Calls for Defying Anti-English PC in the UK

There'll always be an England

Today is the national holiday of England. So naturally, it’s also a day of controversy.

The United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) has chronicled a list of cases where the English people have been essentially prohibited from celebrating their national holiday. They include,

• A Taxi driver in Teignbridge Devon ordered to remove a St George’s Flag from her cab in 2013.
• An Army veteran in Preston, Lancs, ordered to paint over a St George’s Flag design on his front door by housing association chiefs.
• More than 1,200 council workers banned from flying England flags on their own cars by managers during the World Cup because of concerns the gesture would "discriminate" against other nationalities.
• A disabled Army veteran ordered to remove a St George’s Flag from his garden by his housing association landlord.
• Radstock Council in Somerset voting not to fly the St George’s Flag because of concerns it could upset Muslims.

The party is now encouraging people to wear a red rose to celebrate English identity.
