From the NY Post on Mayor Bill de Blasio’s dealings with the Collegiate School, a $43,400 per year K-12 private boys’ school on the Upper West Side (at West 78th St. and Broadway, a couple of blocks from the great Museum of Natural History on the edge of Central Park): JFK Jr. went there for about eight years.

In 2014, Collegiate School, which was founded in 1628 and is considered to be the oldest school in the US, agreed to build 55 units of affordable housing as part of a deal with the city for a new school building.

But instead of building the units, Collegiate claimed it could not find a site in the neighborhood and paid the city $50 million to build the housing elsewhere, according to the letter.
