Immigrant Mass Murder in San Francisco?

By James Fulford

Few details have been released in the killing of five Asians in San Francisco. In fact, until recently, the fact that they were Asian hadn’t been released, and their identities and nationalities still haven’t been released.

However, it may fall in the category of Immigrant Mass Murder that we call "Familicide", in which an immigrant snaps under the strain and wipes out their whole family. Compare the earlier case in this item: Immigrant Mass Murder: Asian Immigrant Woman Shoots Four In Crowded House.

"Significant Update" in SF Mass Murder

"It was a very violent homicide scene, as most homicide scenes are, but this was made more complicated by the number of victims," Police Cmdr Lyn Tomioka said.

A family member with a key entered the two-story home on Howth Street Friday morning and found three people dead, then called 911, police said. Officers then arrived and found the three victims, and also found two others elsewhere in the home.

Update: San Francisco police have scheduled a 5 p.m. news conference at the Hall of Justice to announce a "significant update" in the homicide on Howth Street that left five people dead. Check back for details.

San Francisco police investigators returned to the Ingleside home near City College of San Francisco where five people were found dead Friday morning.

Police Cmdr. Lyn Tomioka said the crime scene at 16 Howth Street contained too much information to process in a single day.

"It was a very violent homicide scene, as most homicide scenes are, but this was made more complicated by the number of victims," Tomioka said.

Investigators said they were still trying to determine what led to the multiple homicides, which were reported at 7:47 a.m. at 16 Howth Street in the city’s Ingleside neighborhood.

The identities of the victims, all of whom are Asian, have not been released by the medical examiner’s office, but Tomioka said Friday afternoon that four of them are family members.[More]
