Immigrant Mass Murder In Sikh Temple? Commenters Are Already Blaming You!

I don’t know if this shooting is going to turn out to an Immigrant Mass Murder, it’s still in progress, and the race of the shooter is still unknown. Commenters are already blaming Republican "brownshirts" for "demonizing" foreigners.

Here’s what I do know

  1. The likeliest person to shoot up a Sikh temple in North America is another Sikh.
  2. If it turns out that a Sikh immigrant is the shooter, the victims will be referred to in the press as immigrants, and he won’t.

Shooting breaks out at Sikh temple in Wisconsin: witnesses

MILWAUKEE | Sun Aug 5, 2012 1:35pm EDT

MILWAUKEE (Reuters) — At least one gunman opened fire during morning services on Sunday at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and remained on the loose inside the temple, possibly holding hostages, according to witnesses.

Police, ambulances and the fire department were on the scene at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, located about 20 minutes south of Milwaukee.

The dispatcher for Oak Creek Fire Department said first reports of the shooting came in about 10:30 a.m. local time (11.30 a.m. EDT).

"We do have a shooting," she said. "Our whole department is out there, and others as well." She did not have details on any possible victims.
