As I note on Radio Derb, today is the 40th anniversary of the death of movie star and martial-arts master Bruce Lee. (I have a cameo in one of his movies).
I used the event as a deus ex machina in my novel Fire from the Sun, Chapter 29.
William, my Chinese protagonist, has escaped from mainland China of the Cultural Revolution period to Hong Kong. He has been living with a Scottish member of the Colony’s police force.
Coming home from school one day, William finds that his patron has disappeared, and the apartment is occupied by some official-looking gentlemen. One of them takes him to an office and begins to interrogate him.
