Is Matt Gaetz’ Brave Bill To End Birthright Citizenship Flawed?

GOP congressman Matt Gaetz has bravely filed a bill to end birthright citizenship. But is it flawed?

The purpose of this Act is to recognize the principle codified in the Immigration and Nationality Act through the statement, ‘‘subject to the jurisdiction thereof’’, and reform United States immigration law to be consistent 4 with the statement’s original meaning by denying automatic citizenship at birth to children born in the United States to parents who are not United States nationals, aliens lawfully admitted to the United States as refugees, aliens lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or aliens performing active service in the United States Armed Forces.

In other words, every anchor baby born to one of the Great Replacement “refugees” Traitor Joe Biden has imported will become a citizen, as will every child born to lawful permanent residents” and aliens in the military.

Granted, the bill offers the correct interpretation of the 14th Amendment and discusses birth tourism and the millions of illegals who are dropping anchor babies. As well, it correctly calls birthright citizenship an incentive to jump the border.

Credit where it’s due: Gaetz is on the right track. We don’t want to make the perfect the enemy of the good. But the exceptions have to be scrapped to end birthright citizenship.
