Is Paris Burning?

The famed City of Light is indeed lit up — or at least its Muslim immigrant suburbs are aflame, now having racked up a fifth night of rioting. Local sons of Allah became enraged last week over a sketchy incident in which a couple of Muslim teenagers electrocuted themselves at a power substation, apparently after some criminal perpetrating. Civil unrest broke out, with hundreds of Muslims in the streets attacking police and automobiles, resulting in 30 officers injured and 70 cars set on fire.

An official of the police union remarked, "There’s a civil war underway in Clichy-Sous-Bois at the moment."

Stunning levels of property destruction are now considered normal in the Muslim neighborhoods, it turns out. Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy explained that the latest disturbance is nothing out of the ordinary. ["Three in rioting in suburb of Paris get jail terms"]

Sarkozy says that violence in French suburbs is a daily fact of life.

Since the start of the year, 9,000 police cars have been stoned and, each night, 20 to 40 cars are torched, Sarkozy said in an interview last week with the newspaper Le Monde.

Doing the math (20 x 300; 40 x 300), that comes out to 6000 to 12,000 cars having been burned in 10 months 151 astounding numbers which indicate near-anarchy in Paris' Muslim immigrant enclaves.
