Kevin Michael Grace on Canadian Conservatives And Minority Voters

By James Fulford

05/09/2011

Asked if he agrees with Patrick Cleburne’s analysis below, Kevin Michael Grace writes:

Yes, I agree.

NB: "The NDP did well among visible minorities, attracting 38 per cent of the ballots of those who are not white.

The Conservatives obtained only 31 per cent of the visible minority vote. The Liberals appealed to 23 per cent."[How religion split the federal vote | Conservatives won religious voters; the NDP did well with visible minorities By Douglas Todd, Vancouver Sun, May 9, 2011]

To speak of "immigrants" qua Canadian voters is useless, as most of the pre-1970 immigrants were (like my mother) from Britain. It’s the visible minorities that count, and, as we see, they voted 2-1 against the Conservatives.
