Lindsey Graham — We Have To Fight Them There AND Bring Them Here

By James Kirkpatrick

Lindsey Graham’s campaign is trapped in a kind of time warp from 2003. He continually argues he should be President of the United States because only he can continue to wage George W. Bush’s War on Terrorism and serve as a strong Commander-in-Chief. Of course, no one in history has ever thought of Lindsey Graham as a "strong" leader.

Graham’s Invade the World, Invite the World strategy is so absurd and self-defeating that it’s a kind of parody of neoconservatism. Indeed, more than one person has wondered if certain people have inside information that would explain Graham’s actions.

How else are we to explain these policies?

Sen. Lindsey Graham said there will be another attack similar to 9/11 if the United States does not put troops on the ground in Syria and Iraq.

“They’re coming here if we don’t stop them there,” the Republican presidential candidate said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday.

"They're coming here if we don’t stop them there," is a nice little soundbite that has fooled almost a decade of well meaning Americans who want to defend their country. But how can we reconcile such rhetoric with actions like this?

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who positions himself as a war hawk against ISIS, is co-sponsoring legislation with Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., to nearly double the amount of funding Washington spends on resettling refugees from Syria …

Graham’s press secretary did not respond to requests for comment from WND.

Without giving a number, Graham has said the U.S. should accept its “fair share” of Syrian refugees.

His bill provides some insight on what that number might be.

Leahy’s office told the Hill that the legislation would allow for the resettlement of up to 100,000 Syrian refugees over two years.

Even President Obama has never explicitly said this many Syrians should be allowed into the U.S, although that could be his plan given the vagueness of his statements. Obama’s State Department has called for 10,000 Syrians to be admitted in 2016 and “many more” in 2017.

FBI Director James Comey explicitly warned Congress in a hearing last month the U.S. does not have the ability to screen Syrian refugees because data on their background history does not exist.

And the number given by Leahy — 100,000 — also correlates with the number being requested by various human rights organizations and resettlement agencies.

Leave aside the absurdity of a Republican Senator throwing away a billion dollars on an unnecessary program like this. Leave aside Graham’s seemingly pathological loathing of his constituents and his zeal to replace them. Only hours after supposed "refugees" perpetuated a gruesome terrorist attack in one of the great cities of the West, Graham still wants to bring tens of thousands more to the United States, while continuing to bomb the cities they come from.

Indeed, if Graham was actively a double agent working for ISIS what would he do differently? Let’s review his policies.

  1. Accelerate attacks on the Assad regime, the number one enemy of the Islamic State.
  2. Work to isolate and antagonize Russia, preventing any kind of an alliance against Islamic extremism.
  3. Continue to bomb Syria, ensuring people fleeing from that country continue to blame the United States for their misfortune.
  4. Bring tens of thousands of hostile refugees to the United States at taxpayer expense while working to discourage any efforts at enforcing immigration law.

Graham’s is either stupid, evil, or in the pay of an enemy of the United States. No matter what the explanation, the people of South Carolina have tolerated this dandified fiend for long enough.
