Were the top movies of 2007 aimed solely at male audiences? Were there any good date movies that both sexes would enjoy? (Suggestions for 2007 include Once, Juno, Waitress, and Hairspray.)
In general, males tend to be more nostalgic and backward looking in their tastes. They are also much more into rankings and the general concept of The Greatest. So, guys make up most of the lists of Best Movies of 200X. Females tend to be more fashion-oriented and forward looking, so they are more interested in the Best Movies of right now, less in history. Women tend to like the new new thing.
I searched for "greatest Hallmark Christmas movie" and, to my surprise, did find one list from Cosmo mag:

So that’s one more ranking of “greatest Hallmark Christmas movies” than I expected to find. But still …
I bet, however, that if I searched for “greatest Christmas movies” I’d find a whole bunch of guys arguing over Die Hard.
