Andy Ostroy the widower of actress Adrienne Shelly (pictured right — murdered by Ecuadorian illegal Diego Pillico) writes in The New York Times that an illegal alien did not murder his wife. “My Wife’s Killer Was Not An ‘Illegal Immigrant,’” the headline runs.
That, of course, is only true if you look at Ostroy’s definition, or non-definition, of illegal immigrant. He was an “undocumented Ecuadorean construction worker.”
Writes Ostroy:
But Adrienne was not murdered by an illegal immigrant, per se. She fell victim to a depraved killer who simply happened to be an undocumented immigrant. It is an obvious distinction, almost too obvious, but it’s an important one to consider as the country goes further down the dangerous path of demonizing those not born here. Here is Robert Frost’s definition of a liberal: “a man too broadminded to take his own side in a quarrel.” Robert Frost, meet Andy Ostroy.
