With an election happening on January 22cnd, American Jewish disdain for Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli Right generally seems to have provoked an unusual breach of the US MSM moratorium on reporting Israel’s illegal immigration policy experience: Rape, Lies and VideotapesBy Shmuel Rosner New York Times January 2, 2013

TEL AVIV — The good news came in the form of statistics: In the last days of December, the number of illegal immigrants entering Israel dropped to zero for the first time in more than half a decade. The new fence that Israel is constructing along its border with Egypt, coupled with enhanced border-security measures, seems to be working.

The bad news came in the form of a human tragedy: Two weeks ago an Eritrean man was accused of raping an 83-year-old woman in southern Tel Aviv, reviving fear about the drizzle of Africans who come to Israel.

"There is no doubt the fence is working as a deterrent," said Sigal Rosen, of the Hotline for Migrant Workers. But, she added, Israel’s policy of preventing refugees crossing the fence, which is constructed on Israeli territory, was illegal under international law. "If a person is asking for asylum, a country has a duty to check their request."…

A US state department report on human rights noted that Israel approved one out of 4,603 applications for asylum in 2011.

(Steve Sailer has also flagged this sucess. How pitiful that a writer in America’s purported “newspaper of record” has to resort to a British source for documentation.)

The “video” reference is to a proposed campaign ad more fully discussed in Fearing racial backlash, Shas shelves campaign video that stokes fear of Africans in IsraelBy Asher Zeiger The Times Of Israel December 31,2912

…the video…focuses on the perceived danger posed by the African migrants residing in Israel, and the feelings of Israelis who live in the same neighborhoods as the migrants.

The narrator says that the so-called infiltrators “control neighborhoods in south Tel Aviv, Eilat, Ashdod, and other cities,” and pose a “social, religious and security threat.” He goes on to assert that the “greatest threat of all is the demographic threat.”

The leader of the Shas party, Eli Yishai, has responded to the rape story decisively: Israeli minister seeks approval to deport all Sudanese, Eritrean refugeesBy Tesfa-Alem Tekle Sudan Tribune December 31, 2012

According to Israeli news outlets, interior minister, Eli Yishai, has called on the justice and foreign ministries to give him the authority to deport the remaining estimated 50,000 Sudanese and Eritrean refugees…

Currently there are some 30,000 Eritrean refugees in Israel and some 15,000 from Sudan.

According to ministry figures, the refugees from the two East African countries make up more than 80 percent of the total refugees Israel hosts.

All of which returns us to the question I asked last June: U.S. Amnesties Illegals, Israel Deports. Why The Difference?

The Congressional GOP would do well to ask this of their new owner, Sheldon Adelson. Apparently he feels strongly about Israel — and U.S. Amnesty too.
