Florida’s Scott: Has he got the message?

H/T Occidental Dissent, for flagging Florida, Justice Department both sue over voter purge By Kathleen Haughney and Mark K. Matthews Sun Sentinel Monday June 11,2012

TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Rick Scott announced Monday that the state is suing the Obama administration over its refusal to share a Homeland Security database that Scott says Florida needs to adequately clear its voting rolls of any non-citizens who wrongly registered to vote….

The state has been asking Homeland Security to give the Division of Elections access to the database since last fall as part of a project to remove non-citizen voters from local voting rolls. In May, the state gave local supervisors 2,600 names of people — culled from a state drivers license database — it said were non-citizens who were illegally registered to vote, a third-degree felony.

According to Scott, supervisors of election since have found that 86 of those people were registered illegally — and 46 had actually voted.

This goes some way to relieving the concern I expressed in on June 1st in Is Florida’s Governor Scott Caving To Obamacrat Voter Fraud Facilitation?

The Obamacrat “Justice Department” in the person of the notorious Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez, promptly retaliated by countersuing Florida.

It is still not clear to me that the Scott Administration has been forceful enough here

The state… has …asked for access to the Homeland Security database, which it said would provide more accurate information. The database contains the names of newly naturalized citizens as well as information about some non-citizens known to the agency.

"For nearly a year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has failed to meet its legal obligation to provide us the information necessary to identify and remove ineligible voters from Florida’s voter rolls," said Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner

Why has action taken so long?

But what is absolutely clear is that the Obama Regime is dedicated to maximizing the opportunities for their supporters to cheat as we have noted here and here. Their arguments are objectively absurd: newly minted citizens are in fact the most likely to be able to produce easily proof of citizenship — which all that has ever been asked.

This is a tremendous scandal and one which could be very costly to Americans.

Where is the Congressional GOP?
