Obama wants illegal immigration

The move by the Obama administration to cripple the anti-illegal alien activity of patriot Sheriff Joe Arpaio has rightly caught the imagination of many. (Feds limit Arizona sheriff’s immigration powers By JACQUES BILLEAUD Associated Press October 06, 2009 Hat tip American Renaissance) Even some politicians have noticed: Franks rips Obama administration for Arpaio move yourwestvalley.com October 07 2009

But, as the industrious Federale blog has documented with two fine postings, the dismantling of enforcement by Obama’s people is proceeding rapidly and on a wide front.

Announcing The End Of Work Site Enforcement reports

Marcy Foreman, the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of Investigation announced that the enforcement of immigration laws against illegal aliens at their work sites has effectively ended. https://www.ilw.com/immigdaily/news/2009,1007-forman.pdf

While claiming that work site enforcement (WSE) is a priority for ICE, the memorandum actually describes the end of WSE. Extensive new paperwork requirements are imposed with offices required to report 14 days in advance to HQ to get approval, which, of course, will not be coming. It also requires search warrants, arrest warrants and an commitment by U.S. Attorney’s Offices to prosecute. As I described previously, that is unlikely. Assistant United States Attorney’s are notoriously lazy and refuse to prosecute most federal crimes that law enforcement agencies bring to them. In areas like New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco this means a defacto amnesty for illegals …

While Club Fed notes

John Morton, the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apparently decided on how to hold illegal aliens in custody. https://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091006/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_immigration_detention_reforms (h/t American Patrol https://www.americanpatrol.com/) He will put them in hotels and nursing homes. All those are well known for their high security, as no one ever escapes from a hotel

This matter was also dealt with Wednesday in The Washington Post: Immigration Officials Weigh Less-Restrictive Detentions by Spencer S. Hsu October 7, 2009 which allowed Bush Administration Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief Julie Myers Wood to land a good blow

Julie Myers Wood, who led ICE from 2006 to 2008, warned that less-restrictive detention facilities can be expensive and, because some illegal immigrants may flee, would not have the same deterrent value … ICE detention "is becoming the new drop house," she said, referring to the temporary quarters where some smugglers drop off their customers before they disperse into the country, and "that’s what smugglers are going to plan on if you set up facilities that are less secure."

Like their response to "Catch and Release".

I value Federale very highly because its writer actually understands how the Feds work.

The stopping of WSE is particularly poignant in these times of joblessness. As the Howard Industries raid showed, eliminating illegal aliens is an immediate and direct benefit to Americans. That is why an immigration moratorium should be first priority in Washington.

But the fact is, the Democratic elite cares far more about brown illegals than it does about American workers — of any race
