Obvious Hate Speech: "A Nation Exists To Serve Its Citizens"

By Paul Nachman

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s April 29th letter to President Trump resigning his post includes the following passage:

As I submit my resignation effective on May 11, I am grateful to you for the opportunity to serve; for the courtesy and humor you often display in our personal conversations; and for the goals you set in your inaugural address: patriotism, unity, safety, education, and prosperity, because "a nation exists to serve its citizens."

Emphasis added.

I generally avoid listening to political addresses, so I missed that one. But, sure enough, Trump did say it on January 20, 2017:

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction: that a nation exists to serve its citizens.

What a concept! And swamp-dweller Rod Rosenstein picked up on it!!

If all the people Mark Steyn characterized as "this country’s depraved political class" could grasp this concept, I'd be far more sanguine about the country’s future.

Actually, in that case, our "elites" wouldn’t be depraved.
